Perseverance Theatre Opens BIGFOOT Musical Tonight

Perseverance Theatre's second Anchorage season continues with the world premiere musical Bigfoot and Other Lost Souls. This quirky, fun and thoughtful show opens tonight, January 25 at 7:30pm at the Alaska Center for the Performing Arts and runs through February 3.

Tickets are available now through CenterTix.Net, at the PAC, online at perseverancetheatre.org or by calling 907-263-ARTS (2787). There is one Pay-As-You-Can Preview on Thursday, January 24 at 7:30pm.

When Bernie Bernstein heads to California to make a documentary film on the elusive Bigfoot, she encounters whacky Bigfoot trackers Maggie and Nicolai, love interest Rudy, and Scottish cable news hopefuls Donnie and Osla. Meanwhile, FBI agents are hot on everybody's tail. Filled with songs from Tony Award-winning composer Mark Hollmann, this new musical is sure to delight audiences with its whacky tale and delightful melodies. This show contains adult language and themes.

Directed by New York artist Elizabeth Lucas, this production features the talents of local Anchorage actor Eric Cover and returning from New York City, UAA graduate Luke Bartholomew who makes his Perseverance debut and return to Anchorage after receiving his MFA from the Asolo Conservatory in Florida. Other actors from around the state include Ryan Curley, Jerry Demmert, Patricia Hull, Heidi Poet, Erika Rothchild, and Rick Silaj. The cast also includes two professional actors from Outside: Rachel Landon and Enrique Bravo.

Music and lyrics by Tony-award winning composer Mark Hollmann, and book by Adrien Royce. Steven Gross and Rob Cohen lead the singers and the band. The design team includes Art Rotch (lighting design), Akiko Nishijima Rotch (set design), Rory Stitt (sound design) and Christina Rumery (costume design).

Bigfoot and Other Lost Souls runs from tonight, January 25 to February 3 with performances Thursday through Saturday at 7:30pm, and Sunday at 4pm. The show will have one Pay-As-You-Can Preview performance on Thursday, January 24 at 730pm.
